Veneers

Unveil Your True Smile Potential at Thakkar Dental.

Veneers are thin, shell-like restorations applied to teeth to create bright, white smiles. They are designed to cover the front surfaces of teeth to conceal cracks and chips, as well as tooth discoloration and staining due to medications or tobacco use. At Thakkar Dental, we custom-make each veneer to fit over an individual tooth and is crafted to match the shape and shade of surrounding natural teeth. With proper care, your porcelain veneers can last for years.

Veneer Placement Procedure

During your first appointment, we will typically start by trimming the enamel of the teeth that will be receiving veneers. This is to enable the veneer to bond with the tooth without making the latter look noticeably thicker than the surrounding teeth. Once your teeth are prepped and ready, we will take an impression of your teeth and send that impression to our trusted lab so they can fabricate your custom-made veneers. This process usually takes about two to three weeks, but at our practice, we can expedite the process when necessary. Once they are finished, we will invite you for a second appointment to place and bond your new veneers. We will adjust the size as necessary, so they will look and feel as natural as possible! We can then provide at-home care instructions so you can maintain your perfect smile for years.

The Advantages of Veneers

Veneers can fix stained, chipped, cracked, and misaligned teeth for a beautiful smile. Dental veneers are thin shells that are bonded to the front of teeth to improve their appearance by concealing any damage or deformities. They are a practical option for enhancing the appearance of the front teeth. Veneers are typically made from one of two materials: composite resin or porcelain.

Composite resin is made from a plastic-based material and colored to match the surrounding teeth. These resins are more affordable but less durable or stain-resistant than porcelain. Depending on the patient’s oral health habits, they can last between five to ten years.

Porcelain is a more durable material than composite resin. It does not chip, crack, or stain easily. It can last up to twenty years before needing to be replaced. The porcelain material used offers several benefits over traditional composite resin material. For example, porcelain is stain resistant and looks natural, while composite resin can discolor over time.

At Thakkar Dental, we believe that a healthy smile is a cornerstone of overall well-being. We’re here to help you achieve and maintain optimal oral health for a lifetime.
